The Abbey is our national Anglican youth ministry conference. Held each year in August, over 200 Anglican youth leaders gather from all over New Zealand to discuss, laugh, pray, encourage, worship and eat together. A wide range of speakers and workshops are on offer throughout the weekend.
We chose the name ‘The Abbey’ wanting something quite different to other conferences and something that reflected a little of our Anglican heritage. An Abbey is a place where people who serve God with their life and who minister to the people in their community, come together to dwell, and for refreshment and renewal, before going back out into the community. ‘The Abbey’ is a place where youth ministry leaders can retreat, be encouraged, be celebrated, and go back out to their communities of service equipped and enthused.
