Mark #1: Proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
The first Mark of Mission tells us to proclaim the incredible ‘good news’ of God and His Kingdom. It’s about knowing God’s story and sharing it with others, because these stories are powerful. Working on projects for this Mark will help you grow in your understanding of God’s story. You’ll also gain confidence in sharing your own stories of faith with other people.
“My confidence in myself and in others has grown. At the start of The Faith Project, I remember saying, “I’ll never get up and do readings in church.” Now as I near the end of the second year, I realize how much it has helped me grow as a person, especially with confidence. I now, and for the past 12 months, have been one of the liturgists at church and doing more than just a couple of readings.” – Te Riaki
Here are some resources and ideas to help you and your mentor understand this mark and come up with your projects. Keep checking in – we will be adding more soon!
“Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT)
